Speakers Corner in Hyde Park, London is one of the most famous locations and symbol of free speech in the world. In existence since 1872 as part of the Parks and Gardens Act. Although many of its regular speakers are every day people, Speakers’ Corner has had its share of historic visitors, including Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, George Orwell, Kwame Nkrumah and William Morris to name but a few. Tourists taking a stroll through the Royal Park are drawn to the passionate debates between speakers and the surrounding audiences. The diversity and interaction is a source of inspiration that Mark continues to to return to chronicle in these stunning black and white images.
